Science, technology, and innovation came closer to students at the STEAM UP Festival, held on 18–19 September 2025 at Gymnázium Kráľovský Chlmec in Slovakia.

The festival combined fun with learning through a wide variety of activities: from dazzling scientific shows and LEGO robotics to indoor composters and stargazing. Its goal was clear : to awaken curiosity, foster teamwork, and show students that science and technical subjects can open the door to their future.

Gymnázium Kráľovský Chlmec is well known for its innovative teaching approaches, including the integration of robotics into daily learning and repeated participation in the prestigious World Robot Olympiad. The STEAM UP Festival built on this strong tradition, engaging both local and international students from partner schools in Hungary.

Representing the INNOAQUA project, PEDAL introduced participants to our mission of creating innovative algae-based solutions for sustainable aquaculture and high-value food applications. Her presentation highlighted how science and research can directly contribute to a greener, more resilient future – an inspiring message for the next generation of scientists and innovators.

In addition, students were introduced to other EU-funded initiatives from PEDAL portfolio, particularly those aligned with the festival’s mission of motivating young people to pursue technical fields, support innovation, and connect education with practice.

INNOAQUA warmly thank Gymnázium Kráľovský Chlmec for their excellent organisation and all partners who continue to inspire young minds to discover the power of science and technology.
