What role will algae play in the future of sustainable aquaculture? Researchers, innovators and industry professionals will come together in Bergen, Norway, on 14–15 October 2026 to explore exactly that question at the Nordic Algae Symposium 2026, co-organised by NORCE Research, INNOAQUA and ALGAESOL.
The INNOAQUA project continues to advance sustainable and innovative aquaculture solutions across Europe, marking its third year with key milestones in research, demonstration and stakeholder engagement.
INNOAQUA was present at Seagriculture EU 2026, a leading conference dedicated to seaweed and macroalgae value chains. The event brought together researchers, industry representatives, and policymakers to explore the growing role of macroalgae in sustainable aquaculture and bio-based applications.
INNOAQUA was present at Seafood Expo Global / Seafood Processing Global 2026, one of the most important international events for the seafood sector. Held in Barcelona, the event brought together industry leaders, producers, and innovators to explore key trends shaping the future of seafood production, processing, and sustainability.
From 2 to 5 June 2026, INNOAQUA was present at World Aquaculture Singapore 2026, one of the leading global events for the sector. Hosted at the Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre, the conference gathered more than 2,300 participants from over 60 countries, together with 120+ companies at the trade exhibition. Under the theme “High Yield Production Through Nutrition, Health, Genetics and Resources”, the event created a strong platform to exchange knowledge on sustainable aquaculture.
The SAFE–AWARE–INNOAQUA Summer School 2026 concluded on 26 June with its third and final session,“Sustainability and Acceptability”. Bringing together participants from across the aquaculture, research and innovation communities, the session explored the broader conditions needed for circular aquaculture solutions to be assessed, adopted and scaled across Europe.
The SAFE–AWARE–INNOAQUA Summer School 2026 continued on 22 June with its second session,“Innovations II – Circular Ingredients, Sludge Valorisation and Integrated Production Systems”. Bringing together participants from across the aquaculture and research communities, the session explored innovative approaches linking aquaculture, aquafeeds, insects, algae and integrated production systems.
At INNOAQUA, stakeholder engagement plays a key role in ensuring that our project developments are aligned with real market and sector needs, consumer expectations, and regulatory challenges.
The INNOAQUA project will take part in the “Protein Transition: GIANT LEAPS Ahead and VALPRO Paths to Follow” Final Conference, taking place on 25 June 2026 at Atelier des Tanneurs in Brussels.
