INNOAQUA Featured at IV Jornadas de Aquacultura in Olhão, Portugal

Innoaqua - Jornadas de Aquacultura

We are pleased to announce that INNOAQUA was presented at the 4th Edition of the Jornadas de Aquacultura, held on 20–21 March 2025 in Olhão, Portugal, by our project partner A4F – Algae for Future.

Organised by the Portuguese Association of Animal Science Engineers (APEZ), this national reference event brought together key actors from the aquaculture and marine sectors to explore the latest scientific, technical, and policy developments. This year’s edition focused on the strategic role of aquaculture in promoting food sovereignty, environmental sustainability, and innovation across the industry.

Representing INNOAQUA, A4F highlighted the project’s ambition to pave the way for a sustainable and diversified inland aquaculture sector in the EU by promoting algae-based solutions. The presentation included an overview of INNOAQUA’s main goals, its multi-actor approach, and the role of algae in sustainable feed, circular practices, and high-value food products.

The event’s programme featured scientific sessions, poster presentations, and roundtable discussions on the key challenges and future directions of aquaculture. A4F’s intervention served to reinforce the relevance of INNOAQUA’s mission within the national context and created new opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange with Portuguese stakeholders.

We thank A4F for their active contribution and for strengthening the visibility of INNOAQUA within the aquaculture innovation community.
