Innoaqua - United Nations Ocean Conference

From 9 to 13 June 2025, ECO Imagination represented the INNOAQUA project at the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) held in Nice, France. This high-level global event gathered Heads of State, policy makers, scientists, industry leaders, and civil society representatives from around the world to accelerate action for ocean protection and the sustainable use of marine and aquatic resources.

Throughout the week, ECO Imagination engaged in discussions with key stakeholders on-site, presenting the goals and early developments of the INNOAQUA project. These informal yet impactful exchanges focused on how INNOAQUA contributes to:

Innoaqua - United Nations Ocean Conference
  • Promoting the integrated use of algae in aquaculture and food systems,
  • Supporting the transition to circular, sustainable inland aquaculture practices,
  • Creating a platform for innovation in algae-based food and feed,
  • Aligning research and innovation with climate resilience and biodiversity objectives.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about INNOAQUA’s work within an international forum dedicated to ocean and aquatic system sustainability. It also enabled connections with organisations active in aquaculture, blue economy, and nature-based solutions.
