INNOAQUA Project Coordinator NORCE and Partner A4F to Present at ALGAEurope 2024 in Athens

Innoaqua - AlgaEurope 2024

The INNOAQUA Project is pleased to announce that NORCE, the project coordinator, along with project partner A4F, will participate in ALGAEurope 2024, taking place in Athens from December 10-13. This annual conference, which attracts over 400 experts from more than 45 countries, is a premier event for algae industry professionals, scientists, and policy-makers, offering unique insights into the latest advancements in algae production and commercialization.

Organized in close collaboration with the European Algae Biomass Association (EABA) and DLG Benelux, ALGAEurope 2024 provides a vital platform for dialogue and collaboration in the algae sector. EABA’s mission is to foster synergies among scientists, industrialists, and decision-makers to drive forward algae research, technology, and industry. DLG Benelux, part of the DLG International group, is a prominent German consulting company known for its expertise in the agribusiness and food industry, supporting trade fairs, project management, and international consultancy.

This event stands as a gateway for the algae community, offering insights into algae’s role in sustainable food systems, environmental conservation, and industrial applications.

INNOAQUA at ALGAEurope: Pioneering Sustainable Aquaculture with Algae

The INNOAQUA Project, an EU initiative aimed at integrating algae into sustainable aquaculture practices, is honored to be represented by NORCE and A4F at this distinguished event. The project brings together innovative approaches that combine algae’s ecological benefits with advanced aquaculture systems, advancing circularity, resource efficiency, and biodiversity.

NORCE, a leading Norwegian research institute and project coordinator, has been instrumental in shaping INNOAQUA’s direction and impact on the aquaculture sector. A4F (Algae for Future), a renowned Portuguese biotechnology company specializing in algae production, has contributed essential expertise in optimizing algae cultivation and promoting its benefits within aquaculture.

At ALGAEurope 2024, NORCE and A4F will present on several key areas that illustrate INNOAQUA’s impact on sustainable aquaculture:

  • Algae-Based Food and Feed Innovation: Demonstrating algae’s potential as a sustainable, nutrient-rich source for food and feed in aquaculture.
  • Enhanced Resource Management: Focusing on how algae integration improves nutrient cycles, reduces waste, and promotes circularity in aquaculture systems.

Joining Forces for a Sustainable Future

ALGAEurope 2024 provides an ideal venue for NORCE and A4F to connect with fellow experts, share INNOAQUA’s achievements, and explore new collaborative opportunities. Through their participation, INNOAQUA aims to strengthen the case for algae as a cornerstone of sustainable aquaculture, advancing a greener, more resilient food system.
