A SUCCESSFUL GLOBAL EXCHANGE: “Algae-based Innovation for Next Level combined Aquaculture Production”
On 11 February 2026, the INNOAQUA Project, together with project partner the European Aquaculture Society (EAS) and leading international research institutions, hosted the online event “Algaebased innovation for nextlevel combined aquaculture production”. The session brought together more than 173 participants from Europe, Southeast Asia, and beyond, confirming the strong and growing interest in algaeintegrated aquaculture solutions.
Over three hours, the event showcased real IMTA and RAS systems that integrate microalgae, macroalgae, and aquatic animals, many of them already operating at pilot or near fullscale production. The programme combined case studies, technical insights, and an interactive panel discussion, offering a comprehensive overview of current innovation pathways in integrated aquaculture.

ROSETTA NETWORKING EVENT
On 29 January 2026, INNOAQUA project partner PEDAL took part in the ROSETTA International Networking Event, held at The Spot in Bratislava and streamed online via MS Teams. The hybrid event brought together more than 80 stakeholders from across the European food value chain, all united by a common objective: reducing food waste linked to food marketing standards and fostering more sustainable food systems.

ALGAEEUROPE 2025
The INNOAQUA project was showcased at AlgaeEurope 2025, held from 9–12 December 2025 in Riga, Latvia. During the conference sessions, A4F presented INNOAQUA’s ongoing work on strain and cultivar isolation, a core scientific pillar of the project. The presentation highlighted how identifying and characterising high-performing algae strains is essential for advancing sustainable aquaculture practices and developing high-value algae-based food and bio-based applications.

WORLD AQUACULTURE 2025 (INDIA)
The INNOAQUA project was represented at World Aquaculture 2025, held from 10–13 November in Hyderabad, India.
World Aquaculture India 2025 provided a strategic setting to highlight the project’s mission at a time when aquaculture is rapidly expanding across the Asian-Pacific region. Hyderabad (an emerging hub for freshwater fish farming, shrimp production, and sustainable aquaculture) served as the perfect backdrop for meaningful exchanges with industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and entrepreneurs.
