Meet the Presenters

  • Dr. Dorinde Kleinegris
    Principal Investigator Microalgae at NORCE (Norway) and Associate Professor in Marine Biotechnology at the University of Bergen. With a background in bioprocess engineering, Dr. Kleinegris has extensive expertise in microalgae cultivation, process design, and life cycle assessment studies.
  • Rui Pedro Gonçalves Pereira
    Head of Seaweed Division at A4F – Algae for Future, a Portuguese company with over 15 years of experience in algae biotechnology. Rui brings a wealth of knowledge from his academic and entrepreneurial background, having co-founded Algaplus and participated in over 20 research projects.
  • Dr. Maria Roca-Ayats
    Senior Product Scientist at Algemy, a Spanish start-up specializing in microalgae for food and cosmetics. Dr. Roca-Ayats has 12+ years of experience in sustainable chemistry research and product development, with a focus on green energy and innovative materials.

On 11 February 2026, the INNOAQUA Project, together with project partner the European Aquaculture Society (EAS) and leading international research institutions, hosted the online event “Algaebased innovation for nextlevel combined aquaculture production”. The session brought together more than 173 participants from Europe, Southeast Asia, and beyond, confirming the strong and growing interest in algaeintegrated aquaculture solutions.
On 29 January 2026, INNOAQUA project partner PEDAL took part in the ROSETTA International Networking Event, held at The Spot in Bratislava and streamed online via MS Teams. The hybrid event brought together more than 80 stakeholders from across the European food value chain, all united by a common objective: reducing food waste linked to food marketing standards and fostering more sustainable food systems.
