Innovation in aquaculture was one of the central themes of Conxemar 2025, the international seafood fair held in Vigo, Spain. Held annually, Conxemar is one of Europe’s most important international seafood exhibitions.  This major event once again brought together industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to exchange knowledge and explore the future of the seafood sector.

From 17 to 19 November 2025, the 39th EFFoST International Conference will take place in Porto, Portugal, under the theme “Fostering the Transition to Sustainable Food Systems: Embracing Novelty and Overcoming Challenges.” Hosted by Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Faculty of Biotechnology, this prestigious event will bring together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals committed to building a more sustainable and resilient food future.

The European project Innoaqua is rethinking aquaculture by integrating fish and algae in innovative systems, developing new processing technologies, and creating sustainable products for food, feed, and beyond. Its ambition is clear: to demonstrate that aquaculture can be circular, environmentally responsible, and socially accepted. Within this ambitious framework, each partner plays a unique role, and among them, Eco Imagination stands out as the partner responsible for ensuring that the science and innovation generated by Innoaqua are not only developed but also understood, shared, and embraced by society.
