INNOAQUA Project Participates in the ROSETTA International Networking Event 2026

Innoaqua - ROSETTA International Networking Event 2026

On 29 January 2026, INNOAQUA project partner PEDAL took part in the ROSETTA International Networking Event, held at The Spot in Bratislava and streamed online via MS Teams. The hybrid event brought together more than 80 stakeholders from across the European food value chain, all united by a common objective: reducing food waste linked to food marketing standards and fostering more sustainable food systems.

The ROSETTA Networking Event marked a dynamic start to 2026, offering a unique platform for exchange between researchers, agri-food businesses, policymakers, public authorities, NGOs, and civil society organisations. Organised within the framework of the Horizon Europe ROSETTA project, the event focused on translating research and pilot results into concrete, actionable solutions for smarter food marketing standards.

PEDAL’s participation on behalf of the INNOAQUA project highlighted the strong alignment between both initiatives, particularly in their shared commitment to sustainability, circularity, and innovation within food systems. Through its involvement, PEDAL contributed to discussions on reducing waste, improving resource efficiency, and supporting practices that strengthen environmental and economic resilience in the agri-food sector.

The programme featured insights from ROSETTA pilot actions tested across Europe, as well as engaging exchanges with project experts and external speakers. Among them were Dr. Gyula Kasza, Head of the Department of Applied Food Science at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, and Zuzana Madajova, Chairwoman of Free Food, who provided valuable perspectives on food marketing, consumer behaviour, and waste reduction strategies.

Participants also took part in interactive sessions designed to identify synergies, share real-life solutions, and explore opportunities for collaboration across projects and sectors. The openness and quality of the exchanges—both on site and online—reinforced a key message of the event: meaningful progress towards better food systems depends on cooperation and shared knowledge.

PEDAL’s presence at the ROSETTA International Networking Event further strengthens INNOAQUA’s engagement with complementary European initiatives and reinforces the project’s role within the broader ecosystem working towards sustainable, circular, and innovative food systems.

More exchanges, roundtables, and follow-up activities are already planned as part of the ROSETTA project, and INNOAQUA looks forward to continuing the dialogue and collaboration initiated during this event.
