INNOAQUA at Aquaculture Europe 2026: Bringing Sustainability Assessment to the Forefront

Innoaqua Project - Aquaculture Europe 2026

From 28 September to 1 October 2026, INNOAQUA will be present at Aquaculture Europe 2026 (AE2026), one of the leading annual events for the European aquaculture sector. Organised by the European Aquaculture Society (EAS), an INNOAQUA project partner, the conference will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, under the theme “Aquaculture in Global Change.”

Bringing together researchers, industry representatives, policymakers, and innovation projects from across Europe and beyond, AE2026 will explore how the aquaculture sector can respond to climate change, improve resource efficiency, and strengthen resilience in a rapidly evolving environment.

INNOAQUA Contributions at AE2026

INNOAQUA partners will contribute to Aquaculture Europe 2026, Representatives from A4F – Algae for Future and NORCE will participate in the conference programme, showcasing project results on integrated aquaculture systems and algae-based approaches developed within INNOAQUA.

INNOAQUA partner Sustainnn will also deliver an oral presentation titled “Towards Integrated Life Cycle Sustainability and Circularity Assessment for Emerging Aquaculture Systems: Insights from INNOAQUA.” The presentation will share insights from the project’s work on sustainability and circularity assessment, highlighting the importance of integrated evaluation approaches for emerging aquaculture systems.

Together, these contributions showcase the breadth of expertise within the consortium, spanning aquaculture innovation, algae-based solutions, sustainability assessment, and circular production approaches.
