The INNOAQUA consortium is pleased to highlight the participation of project partner INESC TEC in the 13th edition of Business2Sea, held in Matosinhos, Portugal, in November 2025. Recognised as one of Europe’s leading events for the Blue Economy, Business2Sea once again gathered a vibrant international community of professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers committed to shaping a sustainable future for the ocean.

Hosted at the iconic Porto Cruise Terminal, the 2025 edition was sold out, building on the outstanding success of the previous year. Organised by Fórum Oceano, with the support of the Municipality of Matosinhos and APDL – the Administration of the Ports of Douro, Leixões and Viana do Castelo – Business2Sea continues to serve as a major platform for innovation, collaboration, and maritime sector growth.

Under the central theme “Global Partnerships for a Sustainable Blue Future,” this year’s event placed strong emphasis on the power of international cooperation to drive progress in marine sustainability, ocean technologies, and blue circular solutions. Participants explored how cross-border partnerships can accelerate the transition toward resilient maritime ecosystems and cleaner, smarter oceans.

As a Horizon Europe project dedicated to innovative algae-based solutions for sustainable aquaculture, INNOAQUA is firmly aligned with this vision. The participation of INESC TEC brought valuable insights to the dialogue on how digitalisation, ecology, and biotechnology can support a future-proof aquaculture industry.
